Philippines: Boracay Island

Boracay is a tropical island in the Philippines surrounded by stunning white sand beaches about an hour's flight from Cebu or Manila. Boracay is quite famous for the night-life party-ing. But it is also famous for those romantic expensive dates. Its good to relax and have fun there. For those wanting to just lounge around and top up their tan, beach-front hotels usually have lounge chairs set up just a few steps away from the hotel entances. The more active will appreciate water sports and activities such as sailing, wind surfing, snorkelling, diving and jet skiing. The fun in Boracay doesn't end when the sun sets. Boracay night-life pulsates with many bars and restaurants serving food, drink and fun until dawn.

During the dry season of Nov-Apr (also known as Amihan), White Beach is calm and very suitable for swimming. The other side of the island has large winds and waves making it suitable for kitesurfing and windsurfing.During the rainy season of Jun-Oct (also known as Habagat), this is reversed, with a risk of typhoons. White Beach often gets large winds and waves which sometimes makes it unsuitable for swimming.

There are many things to do in Boracay. Some are:
1. Reef WalkingReef Walking (Helmet Diving) is an alternative way of exploring the beauty of corals and fish underwater. If you want to try being underwater and afraid of scuba diving this is one of the alternative choice.Reef Walking is one of the water activities that Boracay has offered to the tourist. Reef Walking is safe that anyone could try even to the person who cannot swim. It's time to explore and enjoy the  beautiful scenery underwater that Boracay has offered us.

2. Paraw Sailboat Sunset Sailing/cruise
A profession guide will give you some brief instruction and taught you some important hand gesture/signals that you need to use to communicate with the guide underwater and will taught you also how to equalize the pressure underwater when your ears get hurt. guides will lend you a 25 kilos helmet above water and gets lighter and even lighter upon reaching the bottom of the water.
There's nothing more beautiful than watching a sun set across the blue and clear waters of the world renowned beach... unless you're watching that sun set on a Paraw Sail Boat! A Paraw boat is merely a sailboat with outriggers to keep it from capsizing. It's also a great place to lay down and relax as you cruise along the waters of Boracay.

3. Flying fish / Banana Boat / Water sports rides
The flyfish/flying fish ride or any of the fun water rides like the Banana Boat or jet skis are fun adventure rockets that'll help you satisfy your need for speed. I personally recommend the flyfish/flying  fish or the Banana boat as it's a lot of fun to have your whole group of friends there, holding on to seemingly dear life, as the speed boat whistles you away real fast.

4. "15 shots and still standing" challenge at Cocomangas Bar
It's pretty simple. You come, you see, you KICK ASS!!! 15 shots earns you the right to be a LEGEND... and you get a free t-shirt! You'll get your name on a gold plaque to be displayed on their wall and you'll add a point to the tally of the country you support! Nothing better than patriotism and alcoholism!
Fair warning, you cannot say that you have "been to Boracay" without getting initiated by the 15 shots and still standing challenge!
5. Cliff Diving at Ariels Point
For a tiny fee, P1,200 (about $27 US Dollars), you get a boat ride from Boracay to Ariel's Point, which is about 30 minutes away. There, you have unlimited drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with lunch and of course your boar ride back to Boracay during sunset. Oh, let's not forget the unlimited number of cliff jumps!!!
You can jump different heights, 10 frets, 20, 35, 45, 55 freaking feet!!! And if that's not enough for you... you can jump the goddamn billboard of Ariel's Point which is estimated to be at 65 FLIPPIN FEET!!!!
